Catalog Record Links

Copy-pasting the URL from catalog searches will result in timed-out pages.  Linking to a catalog record (book, movie, cd, dvd, etc.) requires the formation of a permanent link.  The following demonstrates appropriate strings for various material types.

Books
Add an ISBN, after the equal sign, to the following string:
http://www.linc.lib.il.us/web2/tramp2.exe/do_keyword_search/guest?setting_key=itasca&servers=1home&index=default&query=0345410017

Movies & Music (etc.)
Add the catalog key, after the equal sign, to the following string:
http://www.linc.lib.il.us/web2/tramp2.exe/do_keyword_search/guest?setting_key=itasca&servers=1home&index=ckey&query=951841

To find the catalog key:

  1. In Workflows, search for item under “Item Search and Display” option.
  2. Select item and click “Detailed Display” button.
  3. Select “Control” tab.
  4. Locate and copy catalog key number.
  5. Paste catalog key number at the end of the string.
