Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service
Monday, January 20, 2:00-5:00 p.m.
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is not just a day off from school. To celebrate this holiday, come to the library and assist various community groups in helping those in need. Children are invited to stop by any time between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. and participate in a number of service projects, including decorating fabric squares to be used in quilts for charity, making cards for veterans with the VFW, and preparing food boxes for the Food Pantry. Community groups include the VFW, Merry Quilters, Quilting Bee, Itasca Food Pantry, Garden Club, and S.C.A.R.C.E. Prior to the event, we will also be collecting used and broken crayons and old keys for S.C.A.R.C.E. and toiletries for PADS. These items will be used in projects at the event. No registration is required. This event is geared to children ages 6-11 and their parents, but all ages are welcome. Make this a day on, not a day off!
