Flight Behavior by Barbara Kingsolver
Recommended by Colleen, Outreach Manager:
This novel is about a young mother living in Appalachia who comes across a colony of migrating Monarch butterflies in the mountains behind her farm. The find brings all kinds of people and groups to this little town and starts discussions of all kinds – is this a miracle or is it due to global warming or climate changes?
I enjoyed this story – written with Kingsolver wit and wisdom. There are many quirky characters who add authenticity to the story lines.
If you liked Prodigal Summer or The Bean Trees (if you haven’t read these books – put them on your list!) you will like this book too!
