The House of Tomorrow by Peter Bognanni

Jeff’s synopsis:
Sebastian’s parents die in a plane crash, so he lives with his eccentric grandmother in a geodesic dome in Iowa where he is home-schooled on the teachings of R. Buckminster Fuller and is being prepared to become the next savior of humanity. That is until his grandmother has a stroke and Sebastian becomes friends with Jared Whitcomb, a chain-smoking sixteen-year-old heart-transplant recipient who befriends Sebastian, and begins to teach him about all the things he has been missing, including grape soda, girls, and Sid Vicious.

He says:
I really enjoyed this first novel by Peter Bognanni mainly because of the characters he creates and the situations they are going through. Sebastian is being sheltered from the world by his well meaning but controlling grandmother since he lost his parents and she resents that she is not enough for him when he befriends Sebastian Whitcomb. It interesting to follow Sebastian relationships with everyone while trying to figure things out.
