Chicago socialite, wife of Potter Palmer and pace setting arts patron, Bertha Palmer is best remembered for her Impressionist art collection. Mrs. Palmer’s story is fascinating. After the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, Mrs. Palmer helped recoup her husband’s fortune and also served as hostess to the world at the World’s Columbian Expoistion of 1893. Intelligent and witty, the intriguing Mrs. Palmer still compels attention.
