If You Like
A feature provided by Hennepin County Library’s BookSpace.   Find books that are similar to those written by your favorite author by entering a name in the If You Like text box.  You’ll retrieve a number of recommendations.  It’s easy to miss the text box, so make sure to look right above the list of databases and websites.

What’s Next
Service provided by the Kent District Library.  Find the next title in a series by searching for author, series or book title, or genre.  Make note that entering less information (eg: author’s name only) will actually retrieve more information about the author/series.

Whichbook
Customized book searching.  Database retrieves titles (and descriptions) of books that match the criteria you select.

Overbooked
Specializes in information about literary & genre fiction, as well as some nonfiction. Provides annotated lists of books that have received starred reviews.  Further lists such as themed booklists or featured titles are also included.

BookTalk
Provided by Mohawk Valley Library.  Find information about authors, genres, book discussion groups, and more.

Cozy Library
Contains lists of nonfiction, fiction, and mystery titles/authors.  Lists concentrate on books where profanity and explicit sex, or violence are absent.

Oprah’s Book Club Archive
Search through Oprah’s archive according to title or year.

East of the Web Short Stories
Contemporary short stories available in entirety.  Length and age appropriateness ratings are provided for each story.

20th C. Bestsellers Lists

Archives of bestsellers from the 20th Century.  Lists were compiled from Publisher's Weekly Magazine.

Provides internet resources related to historical fiction.

Reader’s Robot
Science fiction, mystery, fantasy, popular science, romance, war, western, and horror reviews.  Book reviews submitted by ordinary readers.  Seek recommendations within genre or search database according to Reader’s Robot “appeal factors.”
