FirstGov
Official U.S. gateway to government information. Information is categorized according to user-type, organization, or topic. Provides search engine that connects to federal, state, local, Indian tribe, and foreign government web pages that are not readily available through commercial websites.

Google U.S. Government Search
Only searches government websites that have a .gov (government) or .mil (military) designation.

GPO Access
Service of the U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO) that provides free electronic access to information produced by the Federal Government. Enables users to search according to government branch, topic, or federal resources. Effective resource for information for legislative, executive, and judicial documents.

FirstGov's Guide to the Executive Branch
Provides information regarding the executive branch. Includes links to directories for executive departments, agencies, boards/commissions/committees, and more.

United States Courts
Maintained by the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts. Functions as a clearinghouse for information from/about the Judicial Branch of the U.S. Government.

Thomas.gov
A service of the Library of Congress, providing current and historical legislative information.

United States Constitution
Provided by Cornell Law School's Legal Information Institute.  Preamble, Articles, and Amendments are all included.  (The first ten amendments of the constitution make up the Bill of Rights).

United States Code
Provided by Cornell Law School's Legal Information Institute.  The U.S. Code is a compilation the general and permanent laws of the United States.

Although intended for a K-12 audience, this feature of GPO Access provides a general description of the U.S. federal government from which adults may also benefit.

BLS is an independent national statistical agency that collects, processes, analyzes, and disseminates essential statistical data. Statistical information collected includes the areas of: inflation, consumer spending, wages, occupations, demographics, employment/unemployment, and more.
