Franzen Battle of the Books Finalists
Congratulations to the winning teams of the first round of Franzen’s Battle of the Books!
The Franzen Fighters, Fire-Breathing Gummi Bears, Reading Rubber Duckies, and Literature Lions are advancing to the final round of Franzen’s Battle of the Books. These four teams were the highest scoring groups after the first round of the Battle on March 11. It was a close match, and all ten teams involved did a spectacular job!
Come root for all the teams at the final round of Franzen’s Battle of the Books this Monday, March 15th at 7 p.m. at the library.
We Need Your LEGOs
The Youth Department held two very successful LEGO programs for children in kindergarten through fifth grade over the past few months. We would love to make this an ongoing activity, but we need your help to collect enough LEGOs to do so. If you have any new or gently used LEGO or LEGO Duplo blocks you would be willing to donate to the library, please bring them to the Circulation Desk or Youth Help Desk. Thank you!

Christmas Cookie Decorating
Just in time for the holidays, parents and children in Kindergarten-2nd Grade are invited to come to this program together to decorate Christmas cookies. On Tuesday, December 15 from 7:00-7:45 p.m., Baking and Pastry Art student Elisa Heimburger will join us to explain what it takes to be a pastry chef and lead us in decorating gingerbread houses and two types of Christmas cookies. All participants will also receive a free copy of the book Cookies: Bite-Size Life Lessons by Amy Krouse Rosenthal. Registration is required. There are only a few spots left, so please register at the library, online, or by calling us at (630) 773-1699.
