Itasca Reads Photography Contest

To celebrate National Library Card Sign-up Month in September, the Itasca Community Library is calling all photographers to enter our first library photography contest. The contest is open to all Itasca library card holders.

Amateur photographers of all ages are invited to submit one or two photographs that conform to the guidelines and theme of the contest.  Awards will be given in two categories: Children (ages 13 and younger) and Adult (ages 14 and older).  Entries must be received by September 12, 2011.  Winning photos will be framed and displayed on the Itasca Gallery wall on the first floor.   For more details and guidelines, download the entry form here or pick up a copy at the library.

Bike Donation Drive a Success

On Saturday, June 11, the library collected 23 bikes for Working Bikes Cooperative.  Your donated bikes will be used to fund projects that provide bicycles to charitable organizations across Chicagoland and places like the Gulf Coast, Ghana, Tanzania, Angola, Cuba, Guatemala, and Peru.  To learn more about Working Bikes Cooperative and their mission, please click here.
