Kane Chronicles Contest

Are you a fan of Rick Riordan’s Kane Chronicles series?  Enter The Throne of Fire Sweepstakes for a chance to win your name featured in the third Kane Chronicles book!  One lucky grand prize winner will not only have their name featured in the third book, but will also win two copies personally signed by Rick Riordan.  30 first prize winners will receive two autographed books and a Kane Chronicles Prize Pack.  Enter today, and good luck!

Summer Reading Club Art Contests

Would you like to see your artwork displayed in the library this summer?  Kids entering 1st through 8th grade in Fall 2011 may download an art contest entry and kids entering Kindergarten and younger may download a coloring contest entry to participate.  Either entry may also be found at the Circulation or Youth Help Desk at the library.  Your works of art will help decorate the Youth Services Department during the Summer Reading Club!  The deadline for entries is Monday, June 6th.  Good luck!

Book-a-Trip Travel Kits

Summer is fast approaching!  Are you going on a fun vacation?  If so, pick up an application for a travel kit at the library today.

The Youth Services Department will put together a travel packet for your child containing activity sheets and reading materials based on your child’s reading interests and vacation location. This service is for Itasca card holders only and requires at least two weeks notice. For more information or to fill out a Book-A-Trip travel kit form, stop by the Youth Help Desk.  You can also print the form by clicking on the green “Book-a-Trip” link above.

Earth-Friendly Crafts @ the Library

Please join us this Saturday, April 9th from 1:00-3:00 p.m. as we celebrate receiving our Earth Flag from SCARCE director Kay McKeen.  Come color your own “I Love the Earth” reusable bag, create a recycled craft, and more!  No registration is required, and all ages are welcome.
