The Children of Men by P.D. James

Nick’s synopsis:

Imagine a world where the human race is infertile. The people of Great Britain live under a benevolent dictator. How can people cope knowing that they will watch as humanity faces extinction? Theo is a professor at Oxford who is about to be thrust from apathy into the world of a band of radical dissidents.

Nick says:

I watched this movie when it came out in theaters years ago. I picked up the book because I enjoyed the movie so much. I was not disappointed. The film adaptation is almost a completely different story yet both the book and the film are enjoyable in their own ways. If you like dystopian novels like 1984 and Fahrenheit 451, then you’ll probably enjoy this book.
